Would you call this a "modern" tatting design? This is another hexagon designed for the japanese class. The hexagons combined together form 3 different triangles.
This could be considered modern simply based on the fact that there is block tatting involved; a modern technique (among others that are in the design). It's also a lovely abstract looking design. It's interesting to see what everyone sees in it.

Yes, is a modern tatting, it looks as flying birds.
Magic imagines.
Thanks dear Iris,

Whether it's considered modern or traditional, I think it's beautiful!
Iris, this is phenomenal. I guess you can call it modern, but it looks like Japanese ladies dancing to me. Gorgeous. I don't know how you do it.
Beautiful Iris! I think you could say this was modern. Love the colors!

I agree with TattingChic, blocs make it modern. For me, I see angels holding hands with one another... and I love those hexagons!
Your books are quite interesting too, because they activate the creation side of tatters, which is quite important!
Thanks to you (and others) tatting revives and we ought to be all grateful!
OK, don't laugh but I see snowmen with gloves/mittens! sy
