Mysterious flower

Dear friends,
looking around among my things yesterday I found these two flowers. Now, I like them but - I don't remember how I made them and will have to study to find it out!!!
Jane, you are right, surely they are Maltese rings. But normally with Maltese rings we can make only rings on the outside, ore rings on the inside, not both. So perhaps I used the SCMR technique for the flower. I will try that out and show you another colour version.

That's funny, Iris!! I hope you find out. They look like Maltese rings to me but I could be wrong as you're such a clever lady.

These are so pretty unlike the usual tatted flowers and leaves.

They do look like Maltese. I can't really see why you couldn't make rings on the outside and inside of a Maltese ring? They look very exotic!

Unique flowers. Know you will be able to figure out how you made them. Will they possibly end up in one of your books?
