The last piece

This is the last piece of my first tatting book. Somebody who lives in a very hot country, where you can't wear necklaces, asked me if there will be broaches in my book. There will be items in the book, which can be adapted for broaches and hairclips, but I thought a lot to find a solution for a brouch, which would be sufficiently stiff and hanging down from a stiff support, where you can attach the broach finding. Here it is.

You never cease to amaze me. If I wasn't an experienced tatter I would hardly believe that this was tatting!
Beautiful precision work as always!

Love the broach Iris. It is amazing. Did you tat the top part onto something? It looks like it is tatted onto a roung bar or something? What else is in your jewelry book? Thanks for the preview.

Thank you all for your compliments.
The top part is tatted on a straw, like the body of my butterfly broaches. This gives the broach consistency. The first book will contain 3 short necklaces, 2 long necklaces,3 pendants, 8 earrings, partly matching to the necklaces, 2or 3 braceletts, 2 broaches. This will be ready next spring and next year there will be ready a second book with the same types and quantity of items.

Just beautiful. I'm glad it will be in your book -- my sister collects brooches and wears one every day. I've been wanting to make her something, but couldn't find just the right pattern. Yours is the right one!

What a beautiful design, almost medeival. I can see this as a cape clasp.

Concur w/Linda: I would never have guessed this was tatting.
